Registry Office in Louth Town Hall is the perfect venue.
Thursday April 12 saw the official opening with John Daubney, a retired registrar from the town cutting the ribbon. The William Wilson Suite has undergone a complete transformation and looks stunning. The ceremony room named after the first Superintendent Registrar for the Louth District had not been decorated for a number of years and was in need of attention. The beautifully proportioned period room with its floor to ceiling windows and original fireplace is based on the ground floor of the Town Hall built in 1854. After consultation with conservation and architectural experts, the refurbishment has been completed to a very high standard in keeping with the building. The result is a beautiful room decorated in period style with empathy for its architectural features and history. Over the years the Registration Office has had a number of homes in the town starting off in Eastgate and the Cornmarket, Westgate and then Maiden Row (now Church Street) and transferring to Upgate during the 1960s. The Town Hall has been its home for the past 16 years. The William Wilson Suite has always been a popular venue for weddings. Lincolnshire Registration now offers a wide range of celebratory services and the venue regularly hosts Naming Ceremonies, Renewal of Vows and Civil Partnership Ceremonies as well as Memorial Services. The registrars can be contacted through Lincolnshire Registration and Celebratory Services on 01522 782244.
